Portraits | Ashley from Coastyle Events

Ashley Noack is the owner of Coastyle Events, a San Diego based event planning company. Although we are admittedly a bit biased from having worked with Ashley multiple times, she is our hands down favorite event planner in San Diego. Since Melissa is working on a website re-design (soon to be launched), she needed some new headshots to match her updated color schemes. Luckily we know a photographer!

Portraits | Erin the accountant coach

Erin is leadership coach and trainer for accountants. She was looking for a modern look with interior elements that conveyed her fun, approachable nature, while still catering to the professionalism of her industry. We think she nailed it! Can’t wait to see her site re-launch!

Portraits | Jeff owner of Concentric Impact

Jeff is the owner of Concentric Impact, a business that helps other businesses with sustainability practices. We decided to shoot in San Diego’s Convention Center area, which also includes the Embarcadero. We were looking for mixture of nature, modern textures, urban settings, and also a little flavor of his new home of San Diego.

Portraits | Garrett Bettencourt

We don’t usually put last names in our posts, but we’re going to name drop for author Garrett Bettencourt. We shot portraits of him for an upcoming book about sea travel. He drove down from the Los Angeles area to shoot at the San Diego Maritime Museum, which I must admit with shame as a San Diego native I had never actually set foot on. I’ll have to come back and update this post with a link to the book when it’s out. Good luck Garrett, hope it’s a best seller!

Samantha needed some updated portraits for social media, so we had a great time the other day shooting in one of our favorite spots around San Diego.

San Diego Branding & Ad Campaign Photography | Sweet Bunny Hare

One of the great things about working with e-commerce businesses is it allows us to do branding stories and ad campaigns for companies that may not be in our geographic vicinity. Such is the case with Sweet Bunny Hare, a San Jose based vitamin company that was looking for something that went a little bit beyond what we normally do for branding stories. This was a brand new company needing youthful and colorful content for their social media. So we designed a custom sort of brand story that utilized local models, our favorite hair and makeup artist Devan Weitzman from Los Angeles, colorful local spots, as well as in studio product photography and styling.

We love fun and colorful shoots like these! Special shout out to our awesome models and all their hair: Bethany, Maddie, Brittany, and Luz!

San Diego Headshots | Acre Commercial Real Estate

Acre Commercial is a group of commercial real estate agents in San Diego who we’ve shot before. We love that they’re always looking for something a little bit different than their last round of headshots, and lean more towards modern backgrounds and textures. It can be a challenge to knock out a large group in a limited time span – but we have a few tricks to ensure that large group shoots go super smooth.

Portraits | Dumbbell Blonde

Ever since Heather launched her fitness blogging business, Dumbbell Blonde, we’ve been talking about shooting content for her. The only hiccup in planning it was that Heather lives in Chicago. So when she recently planned a trip to San Diego for a vacation, she set aside a day to book us for a lifestyle fitness portrait shoot. For a lot of our portrait clients, a single outdoor location typically provides enough variation in background to satisfy their needs. Bloggers on the other hand because of their daily needs for content, really benefit from shooting in multiple locations. Sometimes this can present some challenges from a lighting and logistics standpoint, but with good pre-planning we can pull off lots of different outfits and awesome spots. Banker’s Hill made for a cool urban neighborhood background for a jogging series. Next we went to Tecolote Shores North to take advantage of some of the built in exercise equipment. As it turned out there were some grassy little hills that made a perfect spot for the yoga content we wanted to shoot. And we ended the day at Marine Street beach to shoot Heather in her snazzy red Baywatch inspired suit. If you’re a professional fitness blogger, personal trainer, yoga instructor, or have a business based off athletics, we’d love to help you create some awesome imagery!

Brand Story | Idealust

Becky and Jesse are the co-founders of San Diego based Idealust – a business coaching company catering to creatives. For their shoot we wanted to incorporate their love of travel, as well as illustrating the freedom they have in being able to work remotely. We pre-scouted locations to find spots that had backgrounds that complimented their logo colors. We also worked with stylist Bianca Kofman to have their attire match the look. For our brand stories we first scour the net for inspiration images, and then create a mood board to help get everyone excited and on the same page for the shoot. Becky and Jesse are both fun loving, energetic people, and we loved how it shows in their photos!

Client: Idealust
